I appreciate all of the observations and suggestions provided thus far. Together, they suggest (at least to me) that engagement is a matter of being...not only knowing or even doing. Obviously, knowledge is important; acting on that knowledge is also important; but being and then remaining engaged is a personal (rather than an organizational or a group) responsibility. The leader's task is to recognize, support, and reward that personal commitment. The great leaders (e.g. George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Winston Churchill) create a critical mass of those who are engaged, who make the necessary personal commitment.

Loved the message and the way you expressed it !!! Very pithy,Practically philosophical..

In a world, where you are quick to 'get and forget ' , your One Sentence will take some real 'internal shift'. to practise..
And when that happens , very very likely Engagement will happen too.. Top class contribution Mike

Let’s share favorite quotations that are somehow relevant to business. I frequently include them in letters, e-mails, proposals, and book reviews. They may not always provide a head-snapping revelation but do add some “seasoning” to the prose.
