The Employee Engagement Network

I am in the organisational development team in a media company in Australia and whilst we have some excellent programs of work in HR running at the moment, we would love to be able to hear about other companies that are implementing some innovative or cutting edge programs in their company. I would be willing to share information about the things that we are doing as well. Any examples or ideas would be very much appreciated. (this is part of a benchmarking project I am doing for our HR Director)

Hi Andrea,
If you are interested my business partner is currently in Australia ( Sydney area) until June 13. We are located in Vancouver, BC, Canada but have an interesting innovative peer coaching and organizational learning system that engages people. Erna, my partner, is presenting and having a few meetings with organizations while she is in Australia.
If you would like to find out more or contact her please email me privately at debbiepayne@gmail.com and I can share more information.
Thanks Debbie Payne

Hi Andrea,

great iniative you're taking. I can't help you immediatly with Australian companies, but I can give you some pointers I've learned when trying to get organisation to share ideas.

You'll often find that sharing the idea as such won't be such a big issue, it's the way they implemented the idea, what obstacles they faces and how they resolved these that you want to find out.

1. Try to find organisations that are completely non-threathening to you business-wise. If there is, people don't tend to "show the back of their tongue" (Not sure if that's even an english expression :P)

2. Try to find projects or ideas that can provide answers related to your own challenges. It's not because something works in company A that it works in B. Quite often making that businesslink helps a lot.

3. Make sure you speak the same language... nothing as frustrating as to end up in a discussion about what is what and what is meant by what.

Best of luck on your project. Let us know how it works out!

Hi Andrea,

I think our Australia team ( based in Camberwell ) are running Employee Enagaement events including one in Melbourne on July 9th hosted by the AITD (professional association)
Amora Hotel Riverwalk, 649 Bridge Road, Richmond VIC 3121.

Here are the details:

This could be an good opportunity to network and exchange ideas on programs with local HR managers.

Cheers,

Fraser
