The Employee Engagement Network

Do you feel this information is unique to the UK or indicative to organizations regardless of location?

This article applies to organizations globally in my opinion. Many employees will exhibit a facade of engagement because of fear of losing their job and the high unemployment figures. I don't feel that many organizations realize that at the heart of EE is trust. In this climate, the trust factor has been broken and companies are looking for quick fixes to shore up EE. They need to realize that this will not be a quick process. Once trust is broken, it's going to take a long period of time and effort to regain that trust.

I'd agree with Bobby. I can't speak for global trends, but the numbers in this post you reference align well with the numbers reported for businesses here in the US.

The good news is that this period is forcing both organizations and their members to reassess their partnership. Organizations are falling back, ok being pushed back, to re-focus on their number one asset, their employees. And employees are being forced to confront the reality of their current workplace, their values, do they want to continue like this...what DO they really want? As those two conversations collide, separate and then realign...we could see a resurgence in not only our economies, but our communities.
