Is right brain thinking a requirement for today's millennial managers? If intellectual-age performance is largely based on an employee's emotional connection to (passion in) his work (good at it and loves doing it), then today's managers must be able to inspire, encourage and activate this passion. To do this, today's managers must be more connected to their employees - they must be empathetic, communicative, community builders and collaborators - all core right brain attributes. So how do you connect a manager to his/her emotional side when the logical and empirical side has generally lead all decision-making? Does this also mean that women may be better at millennial management? Thoughts?
Check out Daniel Pink's book, "A Whole New Mind - Why Right-Brainers WIll Rule the Future." Great perspectives.
