The Employee Engagement Network

What are the best books you have read on engagement in the last year?

Wanted to find out what some of the best books are out there.

"Employee Enragement" by my friend and colleague James Adonis.
Check out just released: "Carrots and Sticks Don't Work: Build a Culture of Engagement with the Principles of RESPECT" by McGraw-Hill.
James you can read The Enthusiastic Employee... by David Sirota et al. Packed with great data and from a very experienced team. For in-depth coverage of management practices (many of them now seen to be necessary for an environment which supports worker engagement), an older book is a gold mine: Jeffrey Pfeffer, “The Human Equation: Building Profits by Putting People First”.

Of course I would be remiss not to mention my own, recent book.. :-)) Its the first to look in-depth at morale/engagement and performance, including customer satisfaction, profitability, productivity and worker health....plus a whole lot more about definitions, measurement, power tools to use, issues and myths about morale and engagement, etc.

enjoy!

One year on it might be worth updating this discussion initiated by Jamie. Is there anything more recent that has grabbed your attention?
This is no longer new but I liked "The CEO: Chief Engagement Officer" by John Smythe. It's accessible, concise and an easy read for most managers.
To me, Teresa Amabile and Steven Kramer did good work with the Progress Principle. Appreciate the tools provided based on slid academic research. To me, many of the best employee engagement books might not even mention engagement.
Great book Called "Louder Than Words" by Bob Kelleher.  thanks for all the suggestions
