What do you think of the passage of the highly contested national health bill?

CNN gave the passage of the bill one-third the space on its home page that it gave “New mom inspired to lose 71 pounds.” Is the United States apathetic to the cause? Are we doubting its reality? What do you think?

We have a Focus Community member that is looking for some help with this - any insight?

I doubt that anyone is apathetic to the cause of fixing what is wrong about our health care system. But there is no attempt in the present legislation to address those ills, only to effect a federal takeover of what it does not already control about our health care system.

The proposed federal takeover will only make our care much much worse while not addressing its ills such as high cost, drugs that only address symptoms not the problem often with worse side effects than the problem, and others. Making it worse means forcing out doctors when we don't have enough now, rationing health care with long waits like all other universal health care systems do, much higher mortality rates from cancer and heart disease like other universal health care systems have, and much fewer new innovations like other universal health care systems have.

That said, it appears to me we are going to get what we deserve because Democrats are going to force a single payer system on us regardless of what we think since they control Congress and the White House. We lost our sanity and now will suffer the consequences.
