What HR function are you or would you outsource in 2010?

We have a Focus Community member that is looking for some help with this - any insight?

None. I don't believe in outsourcing a critical role such as HR. I have too many friends that often complained about outsourced HR functions. For example, my neighbor, who was a VP at a large bank, if he had a question and had to consult HR, the call went to a outsourced, 1st tier. If the 1st tier couldn't answer the question, then it would be escalated to a company HR representative. The problem was that the 1st tier could only provide answers that were from the manager's HR handbook which he could consult. He had to reach the second tier to get an answer. This also caused a delay in resolving the issue. Another issue with outsourced HR functions is that the outsourced company is not part of the company culture and cannot provide that insight.
