Who are you?
Christi L. Gibson, CRP, is the Executive Director of Recognition Management Institute (RMI) the leader in understanding and communicating how employee appreciation is critical to increased productivity leading to increased profits. Gibson was chosen as a top honorees of Who's Who in the HR Profession 2007 by Workplace HR & Safety. Former Christi was the Executive Director of Recognition Professionals International (RPI) 2001-2009. Her professionalism, membership service and excellent organizational skills were evidenced by her ability to create policies, procedures and business systems that aligned with RPI’s mission and goals. Since 1975, Gibson’s focus on successful business management is clear. Her background includes Corporate Regional Manager of NutriSystems®, in addition Gibson has personally owned and managed three companies. As Owner/Operator of Gibson Business Applications, Gibson wrote speeches, advertising supplements, in addition to individual’s resumes; clients include former Vice President Dan Quayle’s family members. Selected from 18,000 entries, Gibson was awarded fourth place from Writer’s Digest magazine 2003 writing contest. Gibson has written two novels. She has had numerous articles published in newspapers, national and international magazines, been quoted in BusinessWeek, Crain’s Chicago Business, Successful Meetings, PBH, HRO Today, Chemical Processing, ESM and interviewed on ABC and Fox News. She secured RPI television coverage on WGN Chicago Morning News. Her articles appear in HR Management, Benefits & Compensation Solutions, Incentive Magazine, Country Marketplace, Workplace HR & Safety, OTC Beauty Magazine and Meetings & Conventions. She is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Benefits & Compensation Solutions magazine and Workplace HR & Safety magazine.
What is your interest or involvement in employee engagement?
I was the Executive Director of Recognition Professionals International (RPI) 2001-2009. Prior to this I owned three successful business and worked with over 300 employees. I know the importance of real employee recognition first hand.
