Hi Christi - I previously sent along the invite below, but I'm uncertain if it reached everyone. I would love to understand more about what you offer; I hope you can join the group. Can you please drop me a line and let me know if this is a possibility? Tks! Paty

I sincerely appreciate the information and dialogue found on David Zinger's EE Site! I've spoken with some of the individuals and we have a strong interest in coming together in-person to network, share expertise, and create topic-focused interactive exchanges.
Towards that goal, listed below are details for bringing us together:
Date: Friday, September 25, 10am/CT to Noon/CT
Location: Downtown Chicago Loop location TBD (based upon # responses)
Potential Topic: Given the far-reaching changes across the economy and it's cascading impact to business and people -> Impacts/Opportunities in the EE arena
Cost: None
To obtain an estimate for the number of people, please forward the following by Friday, September 4:
1) Generally, are you interested in connecting in-person? What are some of the desires you would like to achieve from the in-person connection? What value can it bring for you? What ideas/topics are of interest?
2) Can you be there on September 25th at 10am/CT?
I hope you feel as excited as myself for this opportunity! Feel free to pass this along to anyone that would find this valuable.

Hi Christi,
Welcome to the employee engagement network. I just got back from 12 days in Europe and some work as the chair of the 2nd annual employee engagement conference in Barcelona. I met Christophe Laval in Paris who is doing some very good work in recognition in Europe. I see that Peter has already welcomed you. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

Understand every member of your teams motivation, align their aspirations to a clearly communicated business direction, give them all the tools to do the job and then empower them to deliver.
Check your own engagement regularly. You need support, recognition and inspiration as much as your employees, in order provide an environment that will engage your people fully.
Only hire people with passion for what they do; create a work environment that fosters and facilitates the expression of that passion and use a communication style that makes it safe to stretch, fail and grow.
Managers or Supervisors can engage employees by demonstrating little acts of kindness for absolutely no reason at all. eg. Can I help you carry that? Is there anything I can get for you? etc. etc.
For great managers, the path toward engaging employees and keeping them engaged begins with asking them what they want and what is important in order to be effective in their roles.
Involve employees in decisions that will affect them - they may have some great ideas that you haven't thought of and will be more supportive of the final outcome.
