Thanks David. My plan at this time is to bench mark where we're currently at with regards to engagement. The organization feels that we need to improve our engagement based on last year’s annual survey results. I compared the survey questions against Gallup's Q12 and we came up lacking in terms of useful data because the questions were not to the point.

I would like to use a survey like the Q12, but without stepping on Gallup's toes. (Copyright) Has anyone here implemented such a tool and if so, how did it work out for you?

Who are you?
My background is in training and development (20 years). I have a MBA and I'm currently working on my Ph.D. in performance improvement.
I'm looking forward to working on employee engagement even with it being as elusive as it seems.
What is your interest or involvement in employee engagement?
I work in our organization's training department and have recently been asked to help head up our new employee engagement strategy.
