It sounds so obviousl, but I've never actually thought about asking colleagues or my internal customers how I can improve my service! I shall definitely give that a go!

Let’s pretend you work for a large corporation and so far, so good: your organization has only done some restructuring and the “L” word (layoffs) hasn’t come up. But then you come in to work and your cubicle partner says her email isn’t functionin...

Aloha Janine, it is good to meet you!
Thank you for jumping into the ROMR discussion: I'm looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts on Workforce Change - and more - as we go forward here.

Janine-
I think David has done a great thing, kicking this cyber community off.

I was a member of NSA for 11 years. Last served as Pres. of the NSA Heart of Texas chapter. I have let my m'ship lapse at present as my focus has really become much more on customer solution than on my presentation. Weird...but evolution.

May change my mind. Having lived and worked in NYC for years, a reason to return is always welcome.

Who's Your Daddy?

A Toby Keith song to be sure, but more importantly in today’s economy a question for you around your work and career.

Has your Daddy let you down? Are you an unemployment statistic? Were you thinking that you were immune to downturn, and that layoffs happened to other people…with less experience, tenure or value? And then, surprise, your Daddy let you down!

When you don’t own your career, when someone else makes your employment decisions, you’re giving that someone else your economic buttons.… Continue

The 3 R's: A Sure Bet for Career Stability

Let’s pretend you work for a large corporation and so far, so good: your organization has only done some restructuring and the “L” word (layoffs) hasn’t come up. But then you come in to work and your cubicle partner says her email isn’t functioning, and you respond that yours works just fine. She calls for support and finds out that the reason it doesn’t work is that she is on a severance list…she’s been laid off.

Word spreads like wildfire, the press gets wind of it and finally your employer a… Continue
