Hi Jo

This seems terrible but I'm responding to your invite to join a UK group for EE which you sent last August! Believe it or not, I've not been able to access the site until this week following a ban on all social networking sites. I managed to get this site reinstated but it seems to have been fairly low priority (amid much arguing as to what constitutes a social netowrking site and even if, from an engagament point of view, we shoudl have banned avccess to them in the first place!).

Anyway, with my excuses over and done with - yes, I would ove to join a UK group.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Jo

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Would certainly be interested in exploring ways to increase revenue. I am full of big ideas but at present have no revenue myself!! (Funny, but people seem to be more interested in taking my money than sending any my way!)

I don't know whether you have checked out my profile or website, but you will see that my whole propistion to solve the EE issue revolves around formalising the statement that "our people are our greatest asset" and valuing people and thereby chaging the management mindset to managing them as assets rather than just an expense. However, I require a "proof of concept client before I can take it to the next level!

Hi Jo

Didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I saw from a comment that you had made to Ian Buckingham in August that you has set up a UK network. Could you tell me more about it and whether I would be eligible to join?

Thanks
Bay

Christchurch is doing fine - in the process of revitalising the city centre (like most places) and increasing the livabiity of the city. Still a very beautiful place to live, only takes me 10 mins to get to work during rush hour, ski fields within 90 mins drive, beaches within 20 mins, great international airport...sorry, not trying to sell the place but it is a good place to be with my family. What were you doing while in Christchurch?

Who are you?
I have been surprised by the 21st century. I hadn't expected such dramatic and promising change and I am looking forward to workplaces that are a lot more to do with work, and a lot less to do with posturing and power stunts.

I am hoping that we will see the end, or a least a sharp decrease, in the use of 'us' and 'them' models where some of us try to manipulate and engage others 'employees' on behalf of interests whom we we are too embarrassed to name out loud.

I believe we have an opportunity to enter an era of genuine cooperation when we believe that organizations emerge out of shared interests of everybody who works there, the people we serve, and the people who fund us in return for conventional interest or dividends.

We have the skills to make and shape these organizations but have been politically reluctant to use them. To extend the words of game designer, Jane McGonigal, if we can make massive role play games that are compelling and engaging, why not work that is equally life-giving, refreshing and just plain inviting?
What is your interest or involvement in employee engagement?

Thanks a lot for your help ! I actually did have a look on Gallup's 12 Questions, the only worry is that it measures more the enablers of employee engagement than employee engagement itself. I have however grouped the items into themes, and only o...
