Who are you?
Joe Hungler is the Director of Operations at the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester and a National Training Associate for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He has been recognized as the Program Professional and Management Professional of the Year by the Yankee Chapter of the Association of Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals. He was part of a team that was awarded the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Honor Award for Program Excellence for Best Overall Program with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, NH in 1999. He has achieved the Distinguished Level of the Academy of Boys & Girls Club Professionals at both the Youth Development and Management categories. In 2006, he received the President’s Call to Service Award for his work with the Keystone Club, a teen leadership group.

Joe was awarded a Woodruff Fellowship and earned his Master’s in Human Resource Development from Clemson University as part of the first on-line cohort in 2006. He earned his B.S. in Mathematics at the University of Vermont in 1992.
What is your interest or involvement in employee engagement?
I am the Director of Operations of a youth serving non-profit and am always looking for better ways in which we can engage our employees.

I have written blogs for years but this is a new endeavor for me too. I think there is such a fine collection of people from such a rich range of diversity that we will learn from each other and even learn from what we say to each other.

What an important organization to foster employee engagement for. Youth work and people who work with youth are nothing less than our future. All the best with this and I hope you get ideas, perspectives, and approaches to foster engagement.
