Engagement means winning employees' minds, hearts, and hands. They logically decide that it makes sense to stay with the organization, they are proud of that organization, and they are willing to give extra effort for that organization. Maximizing e…

Wishing You Merry Christmas and Celebrating Diversity

I won't be wishing you "Season's Greetings" or "Happy Holidays" this December. These secular, generic salutations are popular in corporate America because they are not specific to any one religion or belief system. The business world, like America's school systems and government, has helped to popularize politically correct terms for this time of year in order to recognize diversity. Now, I firmly believe that welcoming individuals from all backgrounds makes us a stronger nation and creates more… Continue

Hi Paul,

Thanks for sharing your article.
I read your article and found it to be very real and practical. Liked the analogy you used to explain measuring engagement and the drivers (global warming). I'm going to use this analogy to explain on engagement to my senior management. I think its so true that engagement has become synonymous with surveys and so many people just miss the point of what the survey is for.

I have some thoughts or questions related to what you wrote and posted a topic in the forum for discussion coz I wanted your opinion and others on this. I would greatly appreciate if you can share based on your research, experience or thoughts on my discussion thread -> Are Managers and Leaders of the Organisation the Key Influencer for increasing employee engagement and how can we improve post-survey change efforts?

Thanks

Hi Paul,
I was reading your article on will employee engagement be hijacked or re engineered after seeing it talked about in a Google News alert. I printed the article out to take with me early next week when I head to Regina Saskatchewan...a good place to work, visit, and read! I am pleased you joined the network and look forward to insight and participation.

This is a great read, a great story. I smiled the whole time as I read this. If this conversation is possible in your organization, then I'd say your leadership is trusted and transparent. Thanks for this story.
