David - thanks, I was struggling to locate a profile photo of myself from my laptop so I am hiding behind the persona of my two young rockstar sons because I have them on my screen saver! I will update this soon...!
The subject of employee engagement facinates me - for 7 years I was responsible for the Myers Briggs Type Indicator product in the UK working for OPP. This created a unique insight into the ability to understand some of the aspects of behaviour, reasoning, choices, preferences and type. This has continued to spark interest in why individuals are motivated, why they work well for some but not for others.....etc. After 12 years in the HR/Learning solutions business I am now working for an company where the buy-product of our solution is the increase in employee engagement. Better alignment to corporate and personal goals, focus on performance and feedback, enhanced career development options, recognition through reward linked to performance etc. The more organisations I talk to about engagement the more I start to appreciate its real untapped value. Certainly much of the recent research shows the commercial value is compelling to topline growth and productivity. 'People are our most important asset' is so overused but employee engagement is starting to resonate in the Boardroom...just seeing the speakers at recent Employee Engagement conferences brings home how important an issue this is becoming. I stumbled across this network earlier today and was inspired to sign up after reading some of the correspondance. Looking forward to seeing the topic evolve.

Have you considered something around Storytelling and the use of Joseph Campbell's mythology model Diane? I find it a great way of bridging the rational/corporate story and the deeper and more engaging personal story in a way that's both revealing...
