Thanks for the welcome David.
My most pragmatic solution didn't involve any corporate function responsible for 'engagement' It was when I was a line manager responsible for a manufacturing plant employing 120 people on 24/7 shift pattern. It was over 1 year and resulted in the best production figures, lowest sickness, lowest overtime rates, working with the lowest numbers of staff in the plant's 20 year history. I couldn't comment on the enaggement score because we didn't measure it - now there is a lesson on measurement in itself.
