Well, Zane, as a proud Melburnian I probably wouldn't repeat this in front of any Sydneysiders, but if you had to pick one place to visit in Australia, Sydney is a good choice. Plenty to see down in Melb. also though...

I'll look forward to connecting with you around social media in the workplace.

Michael,

Right now I blog primarily at http://zanesafrit.typepad.com. And I guest author at Anita Campbell's Small Biz Trend blog at http://smallbiztrends.com.

Which is my favorite post? Honestly, I like them all and I cringe at them all when I read them later. They all could be improved. But that's the great thing about blogs: an opportunity for constant improvement in your clarity and your writing and your network.

I like Wayne's show for his focused content, his polished presentation AND his keeping it real for him and his audience. I loved the reference to Genghis Khan's general at the start of your show. Refreshing example and I never knew about him.

My show is every Wednesday at 9:30 AM, Central. It's at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/zane-safrit. My focus is word-of-mouth, primarily its ability to level the playing field for small business. My first guest was David Zinger! I'd say that was my favorite show. It also had the highest ratings!

As CEO of Conference Calls Unlimited, I did a 5-part interview with Gary Harpst, author of Six Disciplines for Excellence: Building Small Businesses that Learn, Lead and Last. That was a delight: great content from a great speaker.

Thank you.

Zane,

Thanks and I'm glad you enjoyed the CMM interview wiht Wayne. He really has an interesting perspective on the issues in viewing the challenges of leadership from the middle...where people often get pinched. What's your favorite blog post or podcast that you've done?

Ricardo Semler: The King of Employee Engagement

Ricardo Semler is the CEO of SEMCO, SA. During his tenure the company has grown from $4 million in sales to over $200 million in sales.

How'd he do it? He didn't. The employees did. Workers choose their own salaries, set their own hours, and have no job titles....Let that sink in for a moment. Then let the results sink in: 50-fold growth in revenue over a 20-year period.

Here's a short video interview with him at KarmaTube.

And here's a… Continue

Matt Homann: Tips to Engage Employees

Matt Homann (www.nonbillablehour.com) shared some great ideas and practices about innovation and how to generate it by empowering and engaging your employees.

"A tidal wave of permission" was my favorite quote.

You can listen at www.blogtalkradio.com/zane-safrit.

Saving "Their" Mill

There's a great story at BoomTown USA blog titled A New Paper Mill.

And besides the fact that it's the first paper mill in 30 years to open, the story's really about 2 employees who were determined to keep their paper mill alive, in town. And for a few years, their efforts alone kept the mill's facilities on life support until the original owner found a way to re-invest and re-open the mill with 97 other people in… Continue

Happy Employees = Happy Customers

That's no real news to this community. Still, it's nice to see this connection being documented with research and shared on the 'net.
