Tammy,
Hope the recognition program you developed went okay. I noticed it was your birthday today and wish you all the best on this day and the rest of the year. Happy Birthday

Tammy looks good.

Here are a few quick thoughts.

Can they say who they are in 140 characters.
Can they say what they do in 140 characters.
This makes is brief.

I also like the 6 word story.
Click here to see an article I wrote last year with 52 6 word stories.

I think some kind of "check in" where people start a day or meeting by just saying how they are doing and what takes their energy these days is a good way to build community.

I like the work of Jane Dutton and how she demonstrated that high quality interactions were the single biggest contributor to organizational energy.

Those are a few ideas that come to top of mind.

Appreciate the question--but what if you consider that there is more than one type of "true" engagement, and that different types of engagement may involve more or less spiritual, intellectual or participatory involvement?

Men get engaged when you acknowledge what they do, and women become engaged when you acknowledge who they are.

Yonica: I appreciated the statement: "an invisible grandfather clause." Staying power and growth not just sticking around because of the pension. Well said. David
