I agree that employee engagement and organizational learning are connected. Continuous learning in organizations depends on a high level of engagement. It helps me to think about learning in organizations as having three levels: 1) individual learning; 2) team learning; and 3) whole organization learning (Nonprofits have a fourth level: community learning.) High performing organizations have employees who are committed to continous learning for the purpose of performance improvement at all three levels. They are learning and learning how to learn all the time. They make learning part of their work; there is no separation between work and learning.
