Hello, Anja! I just received your comment on my page of the EE Network. Many thanks for following our work on the employee recognition topic – how did we all live before without google!
Yes indeed I do have the pleasure of seeing many different cultures in the workplace. What strikes me is just how common “the human condition” is! The substance of our needs are very similar indeed, but what will vary is the style in which those needs are met. One need consistent everywhere in the world I’ve seen is for acknowledgement, appreciation and recognition for the work employees do.
Would certainly like to chat further – drop me a line at dereki@globoforce.com and let’s set up a call.
Hello my friend ! So pleased to see you are already part of us. Great place isn't it ? Lots of people that care, really care. Hope that we will meet on your turf, someday! Diane
Hi Anja: Thanks for your comment on my post. I agree, reducing fees is a great way to get clients' attention and to get work. Your comment made me realize that the way I wrote the post it seemed like I was asking for help for my business specifically, but I was asking for thoughts on how firms in our industry (including mine, of course) could address this economy with creative pricing, etc. I just edited the posting to reflect my intention. Thanks for helping me see that I needed to write it a little differently! Steve
Anja... I'm in Dallas at the RPI Board meeting. The deal is this... We are gpoing to offer an introductory discount of $95 offer until April 15th
for CRP1. We may offer some additional discounts on hotel etc... in the coming weeks. I will let you know! peter
Anja. If you do make it over, please let me know. My company hosts a dinner... not sure which night and I'll make sure you get an invite. Have a great evening. peter
Anja. Online CRP pricing is one of the things RPI's Education Committee is going to be discussing at our Board meeting next week. I'll keep you posted. Our Education Director tells me that if you took CRP 1 online you could indeed complete the three remaining courses required for certification at the Naples conference! peter
Hi Anja... I'm in sunny Florida visiting my Dad which is a lot better than cold and snowy Montreal! Next week I'm in Dallas for RPI's Board meeting. I have sent our Education Director an email asking about the cost and how many of these course you can take at one time. FYI... I did them over a couple of conferences. The conference is being held in Naples Florida from May 3 - 6. The courses are given pre and post conference. Naples is a great spot. We held the conference there a couple of years ago. I'll get back to you as soon as I hear back from our ED. Have a great weekend! peter
Hi Anja,
Can you share the theory of self coaching cards with me. Actually we have got the gallup survey done for our company and this field was really found wanting in our employees. May be your innovative idea can help us.
Thanx
Anja... I will make sure to keep u informed on RPI. I'm in Europe quite a bit and maybe we can meet. If you are ever over here please do not hesitate to visit! Have a great day! peter
Hi Anja! Thank you for your suggestion. The program is a organization wide recognition program, but to your point, decentralized enough to build the employee - boss relationship. I would love taking a look at your sample cards if you don't mind sending. My email is rjovanovic@mbc.org. The main focus of our program is driving results by recognizing service to our customers and recognizing values-based behavior.
Anja,
I liked the look and intent of the self-coaching cards. In today's busy times it is helpful to just work with a card or two. I wish you success with them and look forward to your participation in the network. Perhaps you might want to just share a card or two with us by just posting a jpg. in a blog post or at manager tools and see how people respond.

A manager should always remember he/she is "on stage"- and his/her subordinates notice every little trait so always exhibit the behavior you would want them to emulate.

Hi Ben...
Thanks for the reply!
Question--what have you seen as a "clear, coherent script" that assures success? And do you think such scripts need updating to address the shifts we've seen in organizations and the marketplace?

In my experience, achieving engagement creates huge increases in productivity per person, morale, retention, profits, sales, and every other "devoutly to be wished" result. So it is always worth the effort.
But the company person, CEO or executive…
Do two things: trust your employees unconditionally and give them more responsibility than they would ever expect; they will rise to the occasion and surpass all expectations.
In the wake of "The Great Recession" and in appreciation of the changes in the economy and in the nature of employee-employer relationships, the idea of “employee engagement” (“Engagement”) presents an intriguing dilemma.
While some say a focus on…
Interesting question. I'm drawn to less is more, and even that may be too much :) My experience has shown me that the more fearful the organisation is, the more often it seeks to measure as a means to try and stave off the fear. It then often ends u…
I would contend never is too soon.
If you understand what engagement is and how to achieve it, then you know what an engaged employee sounds like and acts like as compared to one who is somewhat engaged or disengaged. Surveys turn people off while…
The real challenge to engage employees is to gain trust by giving them autonomy to shape their own jobs to their own wishes, interests and strengths but always aligned with an open and transparant organisational vision and strategy.
