Did you know Lynda Farmer when she was head of comms there?
I am also based in the UK and run the employee engagement strategy for the Co-operative Group. We have about 75,000 employees across the UK and possibly have very different issues, but we like to think we have a good engagement strategy in place. I wondered if you would you be interested in sharing practices and experiences in a non-competitive sort of way!

I'd love to explore UK opportunities if a practical one presents itself (I lived in the UK for 14 years and always look for excuses to return!)
Cooking is such a great metaphor and we find our programs work really well when combined with other engagement initiatives.
I'm looking forward to being an active part of this group as we all work towards improving employee engagement.
Long ago (and far away?) one of my first training engagements was with M&M-Mars (then) in several plant locations here in the US.
I'd love to correspond with you about your interest in "communication as a key driver" to achieving/improving employee engagement. I work with a CORE quartet: Communication, Opportunity, Resources, and Encouragement. And, yes, that is in order of importance, I believe.

As a Communication Guy myself (Rutgers 1977), I am a big proponent of the importance of communication to Employee Engagement, especially the Manager's role as a communicator. Maybe we should discuss that at the Manager Tools group? Come on over and feel free to start the conversation.

I assume you are an associate of Jennifer Schulte. I am so pleased you joined and I look forward to your participation in this network. I have appreciated the Mars perspective on employee engagement since reading the Gallup article on engagement and the different cultures within Mars.
